I was invited to a hot yoga studio by my younger cousin on a Saturday morning bright and early. I showed up, she didn’t. I was brave and went in anyways. That turned out to be a life changing decision! I fell head over heels in love with yoga in my very first class. I knew right away that this was what I wanted to do for myself and I knew I wanted to be a yoga instructor and share with as many folks as I could. One year later, I took my first teacher training and was able to secure a teaching position at a local studio before I even graduated, I taught my first class on 12/12/12. Since then, I have taken multiple different trainings. Yoga has continued to ask me to be brave and I have answered the call over and over again.
Answering this call has led me to some of the most amazing healing spaces and modalities, earned me an incredible community, the most amazing friends anyone could ask for, and has gifted me a true soul family. I have many certifications that I can list and will list some later, but the truth is that they are just pieces of paper with my name on them saying I showed up to take a training.
The true testament of my ability is that I show up on my mat, I do the hard work AND the light work. I breathe, I share my gifts and my knowledge. I walk my purpose, I heal myself so that I can show others that it is possible and I hold space for them to do the same! Most importantly, I show up with love, compassion and reverence for myself first, so that I may share with others from a place of truth and abundance.
My yoga certifications are in power, yin, and Bikram. I also have certifications in breathwork, reiki, gong training, trauma informed coaching, and psychic somatics. All of this started with the decision to take a yoga class on a Saturday morning bright and early, even if I had to do it alone!
